New Ideas Needed

For Immediate Release – Edmonton – September 26, 2018 – The official launch of Prairie Sky Gondola today marks the end of The Edmonton Project’s involvement in the winning submission from its first campaign. What began as an idea submission is now its own entity. What this means for The Edmonton Project is that it’s time for some new ideas.

The Edmonton Project will ramp up again in spring of 2019 to source out new ideas from Edmontonians. “Now that Edmontonians have seen one really big idea come to life, I think there will be even more ideas submitted in 2019,” said Founding Partner and Co-Chair Alyson Hodson “Big congratulations to Prairie Sky Gondola on their official launch. Seeing the process come full circle is really exciting.”

The 2019 call for entries will once again be focused on capturing ideas that can be brought to life as a permanent place of attraction. “The Edmonton Project is a fantastic opportunity for grassroots initiatives in infrastructure and city development to be recognized, nurtured and advanced. Being a part of The Edmonton Project was an awesome experience. We learned so much, met many amazing people, and had a blast. We’re looking forward to seeing our idea take flight with the launch of Prairie Sky Gondola,” said Amber and Gary Poliquin, The Edmonton Project 2018 winners. “Dreamers, make your pitch. You never know, you might hit a home run!”

More information will be released in the coming months on what the spring 2019 call for entries will entail, but Edmontonians can put on their thinking caps now.

– END –

Launching at the end of August 2017, The Edmonton Project put out a call for entries to Edmontonians to submit their ideas for a permanent place of attraction in Edmonton. Now that one idea has been brought to life, The Edmonton Project will continue its search in 2019 for new idea submissions.
